We are looking for general pediatrician clinician investigator to join our division’s clinical and research missions. Areas of research expertise include pediatric health equity, children with chronic conditions, newborn care, informatics, and promoting healthy child development. OHSU has many resources for emerging investigators including a clinical and translational research institute (OCTRI), a University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities, the Human Investigations Program (HIP), which allows faculty to receive additional training in public health, and multiple research grant and career development award opportunities. Research faculty are expected to provide research mentorship to trainees including pediatric residents and medical students. Our faculty have won multiple awards for research mentorship.
Clinically, pediatricians in our division provide clinical care for over 12,000 infants, children, and adolescents in the ambulatory setting, and provide inpatient service to newborns in the Mother-Baby Unit. Embracing multidisciplinary collaboration, we actively participate in a broad range of clinical, quality and education activities. Division members develop and support family-centered care principles and demonstrate excellence in communication with families and referring providers. The Division is extensively involved in providing and leading clinical and educational endeavors for medical students and pediatric residents. More than half of Oregon’s practicing pediatricians trained at Doernbecher.
The ideal candidate will have clinical and/or health services research experience in a research area relevant to general pediatrics. Fellowship and/or Master’s-level (e.g., MPH, MPP) training, though not required, is desirable.
