Overview

Sev1Tech is seeking a Systems Engineer to support the Program Executive Office (PEO) Manpower, Logistics, and Business Solutions (MLB) which manages the Logistics (LOG) Information Technology (IT) portfolio. This portfolio is composed of 300+ afloat and ashore IT systems/applications with 150,000+ users across all Naval Systems Commands (SYSCOMs) and Naval Operational Forces (NOF) to include ships, carriers, submarines, USN/USMC aviation squadrons, and Naval Expeditionary Forces. The United States Coast Guard (USCG) is a joint user of LOG IT capabilities and is part of the program requirements. LOG IT enables essential business operations for various capability groups.

This role will support the delivery of the following to the LOG IT Portfolio: the integration of common capabilities, data, and support services, improvement of service performance and reduction of operational costs through the reduction/elimination/automation of duplicative services, capabilities, and data sets, and an Integrated Platform and DevSecOps Pipeline, and Continuous Capability Modernization, Deployment, and Support (CMDS).

Job duties would include, but are not limited to:

  • Support PEO MLB LOG IT Assistant Program Managers (APMs) for the NTCSS, MFOM, OOMA, FSM & ROM programs.

  • Recommend appropriate engineering solutions to system issues and challenges.

  • Participate in IPT reviews and ensure systems engineering policies and practices are applied.

  • Provide Systems Engineering support for program office at PEO MLB LOG IT PMW 200.

  • Provide Engineering direction for the Naval Information Warfare Center Atlantic (NIWC LANT) Central Design Authority and Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) Business System Center.

  • Assist in completing PEO C4I Engineering Change Requests (ECR) or submitting Change Requests (CR) to NAVSUP for Implementation.

  • Assist the Assistant Program Manager Engineering (APM-E) in providing engineering expertise for all projects.

  • Ensure PEO C4I processes are followed, and requirements are met for engineering events.

  • Support Engineering Change Requests (ECR), Ship Change Documents (SCD), Service Request Forms (SRF), User's Logistics Support Summaries (ULSS), Navy Training System Plans (NTSP), Systems Engineering Technical Reviews (SETR), and Technical Review Boards (TRB) as required.

  • Coordinate with various Planning Yards (PY) to provide Liaison Action Requests (LAR) for any drawings in need of revision.

  • Coordinate with In-Service Engineering Agent (ISEA) to maintain Installation Requirement Drawings (IRD), and System Installation Drawings (SID).

  • Monitor internal and external test events.

  • Understand Systems Architecture and Interfaces.

  • Assist APMs with Engineering Data Calls.

  • Coordinate with non-CANES application integration testing groups (NSWCDD DNA, Military Sealift Command, DDG1000) to maintain testing requirements to field afloat to all platforms (LCS TSCE, ZOE, etc.) 

     


Responsibilities

  • Bachelor's degree in related discipline
  • Ability to obtain a minimum of a DoD Interim Secret clearance
  • Minimum 6-8 years Systems Engineering experience
  • Experience designing and developing solutions to complex applications problems, system administration, or network issues
  • Experience performing systems management and integration functions
  • Experience supporting DoD RMF process by hardening, implementing STIGs, and running Scans to support Cyber teams
  • Experience managing Infrastructure in DoD including on-premise, cloud and shipboard environments.
  • Experience in integrating APIs including REST, SOAP and others
  • Experience in LAN Networking configurations for systems
  • Experience in Relational Databases including provisioning, schema management and ETL functions.
  • Knowledge of containerization and kubernetes

 



Qualifications



  • Comptia Sec+ Certification
  • Experience on CANES infrastructure
  • Experience modernizing legacy .Net systems to containerized systems.
