Now Hiring for a Group Leader at our Ada, Oklahoma manufacturing plant.  This role will oversee operations and supervise production associates and is responsible for coordinating associate activities within the department / shift to ensure smooth and consistent operations to meet KPIs. Other responsibilities include maintaining accountability and fostering a cohesive team environment, growing teams’ skillsets through training, identify and driving continuous improvement efforts, reporting performance metrics across various levels, and assisting operators with execution of sewing/cutting operations when necessary.

 

Direct, schedule and coordinate day to day operations:

  • Oversees operations and lead production associates responsible for assigned groups and shifts · Plans work including assigning, instructing, directing, and assisting associates.
  • Handles day-to-day personnel issues, coaching, counseling, and disciplinary actions.
  • Ensures the maintenance of equipment is completed in a timely manner, communicating with mechanics and maintenance to coordinator repairs and maintenance of equipment.
  • Maintains a cohesive team environment.
  • Establishes effective lines of communications between staff and management or other internal departments and co-ordinates work activities within department to ensure highest level of quality and productivity.
  • Assists associates with problem solving, inquiries, and handles escalated issues.
  • Adjusts schedules/expedites operations to meet unplanned changes in production schedules.
  • Recommends and assists in the implementation of unit goals and objectives.
  • Monitors compliance of all company policies, procedures, standards, and goals.
  • Recommends and implements process and procedure changes, leading to increased efficiency and effectiveness of material control processes.
  • Assist production operations by participating in manufacturing processes as needed.

Safety:

  • Manages a safe workplace by advocating incident prevention and preparedness (e.g., near-hits, ergonomics).
  • Conducts or arranges department safety training.
  • Conducts or participates in regular safety meetings.
  • Collaborates with EHS professionals to minimize, and where possible, eliminate safety drivers and risks to promote a safe work environment.

Training:

  • Coordinates and/or conducts temporary, new hire or transferred associate training (orientation, etc.).
  • Performs on the job training for associates to meet customer expectations and to adhere to ISO and Standard Operating Procedures specifications.
  • Ensures training records are prepared and retained as required.
  • Communicates and collaborates with training team on needed associates training, auditing, and records

Information and Data Monitoring:

  • Facilitates daily KPI departmental meetings.
  • Actively participates in Level 2 KPI meeting by detailing performance, needs, and progress of areas within reporting responsibilities.
  • Monitors adherence to KPIs and reports on a weekly basis.
  • Identifies root causes of any KPI misses, defines corrective actions, and ensures implementation.
  • Monitors and controls expenditures.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Encourages a Continuous Improvement culture driven by associates focused on problem solving, root cause analysis, and implementation.
  • Assist in Continuous Improvement idea generation and tracking via entering ideas into tracking systems.
  • Assist in deploying a Continuous Improvement culture by assisting in teaching MBS & Lean principals.
  • Facilitate Continuous Improvement efforts and project manage resulting actions.

 



Qualifications

Experienced and Education Required:

  • 2+ years of general manufacturing experience or related field · Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to plan, schedule, and coordinate work and organize daily activities.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office · Strong analytical ability.
  • Ability to operate at a level that meets or exceeds Safety, Quality, and Productivity standards established in work area.
  • Demonstrated experience in building a collaborative work environment & team.
  • Strong experience in performance management.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Experience and Education Preferred:

  • 1+ Years of Globe Manufacturing Experience.
  • Proficient in training others.
  • Experience in production associate coordination.
  • Lean, 6-Sigma, Continuous Improvement, and EHS initiatives.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing setting and managing via KPIs.
  • Management of up to 30 employees.
  • Stitching background and/or experience with garment, textile or industrial sewing manufacturing operations.
  • Related military experience may be substituted for up to two years of supervisory and/or work experience.
  • Associate degree in a related field or educational academic equivalent.
