Fibertek is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team in West Point, NY. The Project Manager for Military University Partnership Integration is responsible for developing and managing strategic partnerships between ARL and military-focused academic institutions. The role involves coordinating joint research efforts, overseeing faculty and cadet engagement, and ensuring that collaborative projects align with Army modernization objectives. This position requires close coordination with ARL leadership, academic deans, research directors, and policy stakeholders to facilitate knowledge exchange and enhance scientific and technological advancements that benefit the Army. The incumbent will serve as the primary advocate for ARL’s research interests within military educational institutions, ensuring that academic partnerships contribute to Army readiness, innovation, and scientific research priorities. Additionally, the Project Manager will provide leadership in managing agreements, funding exchanges, and policy development to sustain long-term collaborative efforts.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
The Project Manager for Military University Partnership Integration is responsible for establishing and executing the Institute for Operationalizing Science (IfOS) in collaboration with USMA’s Associate Dean of Research, fostering partnerships between ARL, USMA, SMCs, and other institutions to support research integration, and engaging with external stakeholders to drive policy and strategy for enhancing the operationalization of science. This role involves enabling and coordinating joint studies between ARL and military institutions on policy, strategy, and technology integration, as well as supporting and overseeing faculty and cadet research initiatives, including engineering design projects. The Project Manager will work closely with STEM and non-STEM academic departments to advance modernization efforts within ethical, operational, business, and legal frameworks.Additionally, the incumbent will represent ARL’s interests in the national security and defense research communities, collaborating with think tanks, academic institutions, and policy organizations to shape Army research priorities and develop strategies to increase STEM fluency among Army officers. Leadership responsibilities include managing the ARL-USMA Advisory Council, facilitating quarterly meetings, overseeing agreements, funding exchanges, and budgetary allocations between ARL and academic partners, and supporting ARL’s Outreach Office in organizing technical symposiums, fellowships, internships, and other academic engagements. The Project Manager will also develop reports, presentations, and strategic briefs for ARL leadership and academic partners, represent ARL at conferences, workshops, and interagency meetings, and provide oversight for ARL personnel engaged in university collaboration efforts. Other duties may include supporting emerging initiatives within ARL and partner institutions as required, and adapting strategies to evolving Army research and development priorities.
