Essential functions of the position:
Collaborate with a diverse team of subject matter experts to support federal and commercial clients throughout Alaska in executing environmental field projects; Remedial Investigations (RI), Remedial/Removal Actions (RA), fuel spill response, waste management, as well as light construction and civil construction projects.
Provides general logistical coordination and support to project managers and field teams.
Plans and directs environmental field efforts, managing both internal field teams and subcontractors.
Assists Project Managers with field budget tracking, daily quantity reports, and general subcontractor management and oversight.
Oversees field execution and completion of projects with strict adherence to schedule, and budget and in accordance with OSHA, corporate, and contract health and safety requirements.
Mentors internal staff with on-the-job training (OJT), internal meetings/presentations, and resource management.
Must accommodate a flexible work schedule to adapt to project field schedule demands during primary field season months (April – November)
Job requirements of the position:
Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, engineering, geology or related field preferred and at least 8 years of experience performing site management-related duties.
Experience collaborating with other subject matter experts in a project team setting.
Both environmental and construction experience preferred.
Experience performing work in remote Alaska preferred.
Experience performing work in Native Alaskan communities is preferred.
Experience with Federal Department of Defense (DOD) clients United States Army Corps of
Engineers (USACE), US Air Force, Federal Aviation Administration, preferred.
Experience is desired in several of the following areas: ADEC Contaminated Sites, ADEC Solid Waste, CERCLA, RCRA, and TSCA.
40 40-hour HAZWOPER training and respirator fit test required.
