Description:

Pacific Maritime Group is seeking a motivated, task-oriented individual for the Port Captain position.

The Port Captain is responsible for managing vessel crews and the oversight and management of vessel related activities and operations.

Job Responsibilities

Fleet Compliance

· Oversee maintenance and compliance of vessel safety equipment

· Maintain compliance of vessel COI's, Loadlines, Certificates, etc.

· Assist with audits and inspections.

· Maintain fleetwide compliance with regulatory bodies.

Vessel Related activities and operations

· Interface with customers, marine & shoreside employees, vendors, and regulatory officials.

· Supervises responsibilities and performance of vessel personnel.

· Be knowledgeable of the status of all of the fleet at all times.

· Ensures compliance with company SOP's, regulatory, licensing, and training requirements.

· Ensures compliance of company safety policies, maintenance and training programs.

· Be knowledgeable of all equipment and vessel operations

· Directs, motivates and develops employees for maximum performance.

· Assist in the development of training programs and materials.

· Assist with encouraging participation and accuracy in VMS submissions.

· Maintain accurate and up to date records and information

· Responsible for approval and review of fleet requisitions.

· Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Master or Mate. A Graduate from a Maritime Academy as a licensed officer can substitute 2 years of this requirement.

· 5 years' experience as tugboat captain with ocean towing is a plus

· Must have a strong maritime background

· Current TWIC Card or be able to obtain within 30 days of employment

· Valid Driver License

Pay:

$125,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
