BASIC FUNCTION
The WEOKIE Mortgage Loan Sales and Operations Manager provides exceptional leadership to the residential mortgage loan originations and operations teams and their related efforts to provide expert guidance and assist WEOKIE members purchase homes and refinance existing mortgages. This position is driven to set and achieve targets that align with budget, production and organizational goals.
MAJOR ACTIVITIES
Manages the day-to-day operations of the Mortgage Loan Officers, Mortgage Loan Processors and Mortgage Loan Closers to ensure that expert guidance and raving fans service to WEOKIE Members throughout the mortgage loan lifecycle. This includes completeness of high-quality applications, establishing and maintaining timely partner credit union member follow up, robust pipeline management and applications, complete file submissions for processing, timely and accurate disclosures issued, assisting Loan Officers with individual loan support and coordinating schedules.
Provides exceptional leadership through coaching and training to increase the knowledge of the Mortgage Loan Officers, Mortgage Loan Processors and Mortgage Loan Closers as it relates to mortgage lending products, policies, compliance, regulations, and best practices for producing high quality loans while delivering raving fans service to WEOKIE Members.
Develops strategies to maximize leads from WEOKIE Members. Manages lead process distribution and referrals to include internet applications, WEOKIE Members, phone lines, etc.
Works with other business units within WEOKIE (QC and Servicing) to maximize operational effectiveness and develop, document, and maintain processes which further assist in achieving organizational objectives.
Ensure assigned business units are operating efficiently and reliably, are in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and rules, have appropriate operating controls to mitigate risk, and are performing at high levels.
Acts on behalf of WEOKIE FCU as the qualified individual for ensuring federal and state licensing requirements are met and maintained so that WEOKIE can do business within a state.
Stays abreast of any changes to laws, regulations and market changes which affect the activities of the department.

WEOKIE Members receive expert guidance and raving fans service.
Business goals for originated and closed loan volume are consistently met and often exceeded.
Business requirements for timeliness and accuracy in the origination and closing of first mortgage loans are consistently met and often exceeded.
Assigned business units operate efficiently, under appropriate operating controls and compliant with applicable state and federal laws/regulations. Key strategic and operating plans, priorities, projects and goals are executed in a timely, efficient and productive manner.

QUALIFICATIONS
Specialized or Technical Knowledge and Skills
An associate’s degree in business is required. Candidates who present an equivalent combination of formal training, such as mortgage certification, and a minimum of four years’ experience of mortgage origination may also be considered.
A minimum of 5 years’ management experience, with at least 3 years involving sales management, is preferred. Previous experience as an originating manager with experience to include supervision and/or thorough understanding of processing, underwriting and closing preferred.
Maintains all required NMLS, Federal, State and Safe Act Licensing requirements.
Demonstrated knowledge of mortgage loan products, including conventional and government loans along with underwriting guidelines.
Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state regulations/laws as they pertain to mortgage lending and the ability to adhere to them.
Demonstrate ability to analyze, reason, problem solve and prioritize work independently.
Demonstrated ability to analyze complex situations and solve problems and/or design recommendations to accomplish business and tactical goals.
Must be experienced in working with Microsoft Office products.
Strong organizational skills are essential.
