2nd Shift Production Associate - Military veterans preferred

PDS Optical is seeking a dependable, results-driven individual to work in our optical lab as Full-Time Digital Surface Technician! The Digital Surface Technician controls the optical manufacturing equipment that blocks, generates, polishes and lasers the lenses to the designated curve on the concave side of the lens.

This is an entry-level position with hours from 4:00pm to 1:00am, Monday through Friday. Employees will receive on the job training, while optical or manufacturing experience is helpful, no experience is necessary. The starting wage for this position is $17.00/hr.

Essential Functions

• Block incoming lenses
• Wash and clean lenses
• Transfer trays to set up table, record blocking time and put in front of tray, then transfer trays to the conveyor.
• Keep area clean and organized.
• Know the order of production and make sure the “PRIORITY JOBS” are run first.
• Keep workflow going at a steady pace.
• Clean up your work area and machines during and after your shift.
• Transfer alloy from de-blockers to blockers

Work Environment

This position is located in our Digital Surface Department of our optical laboratory and operates in a production/manufacturing type setting. The temperature can sometimes be warm and the noise level can be somewhat loud. This position also requires working in close proximity to a diverse group of other co-workers.
