We are seeking a highly skilled Welding Supervisor to lead our welding team and drive the optimization and innovation of our welding operations. The ideal candidate will be an expert in various welding processes, with a strong focus on fixture development, process optimization, and the integration of new welding technologies. This role requires a deep understanding of welding standards and a commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.

Primary Functional Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team in advanced welding operations, ensuring quality, efficiency, and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Develop and organize welding fixtures associated with part numbers to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to develop and refine welding procedures and fixtures for new and existing products.
  • Drive the transition from FCAW to modern GMAW pulse spray welding processes, leveraging new technologies for cleaner, faster welds.
  • Provide expertise in automated welding solutions and process optimization to maximize productivity and quality.
  • Ensure compliance with ASME Section IX, ASME Section V, and relevant military standards for welding, contributing to the company's commitment to quality in the nuclear sector.
  • Facilitate training and development of welding team members, including conducting safety training sessions and toolbox chats.
  • Oversee and manage daily welding operations, ensuring alignment with production schedules and project requirements.
  • May be responsible for other parts of manufacturing operations as needed to support overall production goals.


Minimum Requirements:
  • Proficient in GMAW Robotic welding, FCAW semi-automatic welding, GTAW manual welding, and GMAW Pulse Welding.
  • Proven experience in fixture development and welding process optimization.
  • Familiarity with ASME Section IX, ASME Section V, and military standards for welding.
  • Knowledge or certification in nondestructive examination techniques is a plus.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to mentor and develop team members.
  • Ability to read blueprints, interpret manufacturing drawings, and develop appropriate welding and fixturing strategies.
  • Certified or capable of being certified to AWS D1.1, ASME Section IX, and relevant Mil Specs.
  • Proficient in the use of measuring equipment and Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and meet the physical demands of the role.
  • US Citizenship required due to the nature of our DoD work.


Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; advanced degrees or certifications in welding or engineering disciplines preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in an industrial welding environment, with a focus on MIG, TIG, and FCAW processes.
  • Previous supervisory or team lead experience highly desirable.
  • Experience with 6-axis robotic welding arms is a plus.
