The Assistant Irrigation Field Manager is responsible for assisting the Field Manager in installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial irrigation systems within a designated area. In this role you will gain knowledge of various irrigation systems, including sprinklers, drip systems, controllers and analyzing soil and plant conditions to ensure optima water distribution. The Assistant Irrigation Field Manager will learn to troubleshoot and repair irrigation issues, perform maintenance on systems and other irrigation related services. This position will play a key role in ensuring that the irrigation systems function properly promoting efficient water management and maintaining optimal performance while upholding highest standards and modeling the company's best practices.

This role will collaborate with Irrigation Field Manager to ensure smooth coordination of scheduling, resources and task optimizing efficiency and meeting project deliverables. Communicate directly with the Irrigation Field Manager as needed to provide updates on the status of projects. Success in this role is measured by developing the skills needed to advance to the next level.

This is a year-round position, at times will be utilized to perform other tasks to align with the needs of the business.

Weekends may be required periodically, due to inclement weather delays, loss in production, workload, etc.

Reporting location will be Forestville, MD. Irrigation teams support several branches within a given market. This location services the following areas: Laytonsville, Silver Spring, Frederick, Forestville, Elkridge, Baltimore, White Marsh, and DC.

Hourly Pay Rate: $16-20/hour

Responsibilities:

  • Asist in performing routine irrigation inspections for designated commercial properties
  • Assist and preform digging, trenching, learn how to make repair components, such as pipes, sprinkler heads, valves, or timers
  • Learn to identify items and resolve issues with irrigation systems through troubleshooting and diagnosis
  • Willingness to be trained to solve problems though process of elimination
  • Assist in manage irrigation inventory, ensuring that all necessary tools, equipment, and materials are fully stocked and systematically organized for maximum job efficiency
  • Promote and adhere to safety protocols by ensuring a safe working environment
  • Actively participate with in-house training and continued education
  • Learn to complete daily reports for work completed to include property reports, estimates and timecards daily

Qualifications
  • No experience necessary, prefer candidate with some exposure to irrigation, plumbing or HVAC environments
  • Exposure in the service industry in servicing, repairing, and troubleshooting commercial/residential equipment
  • Positive attitude and willing to learn new thing
  • Familiarity with smart phones and basic computer operations
  • Strong written, verbal and personal communication skills
  • Must have a valid driving license, with a clean record, no major violation in the last 3 to 5 years
  • Much have or be able to pass a DOT physical to obtain a DOT medical card
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions
  • Ability to stand, squat, reach for long periods and lift minimum 50 lbs as needed
