The Job

Eckert & Ziegler Isotope Products seeks a Shipper / Receiver / Engraver I to join our team. This position is responsible for packaging hazardous material shipments according to 49CFR and IATA regulations. Receives incoming material and distributes the items to proper personnel. Also responsible for all other regular shipping and receiving duties as assigned by the Shipping Lead or Supervisor.

Duties:

  1. Handle shipping of hazardous materials as well as returning packages and receivables.
  2. Ensure that all daily shipments are delivered to Accounting department daily.
  3. Ensure that all outgoing shipments have been wiped and processed by counting room personnel before leaving the facility.
  4. Maintain cleanliness and safety in the receiving and stock room areas as well as in the packaging area. Maintain all packaging and shipping supplies and ensure that they are properly stored.
  5. Enter disposition of incoming parts after inspection is completed.
  6. Perform preventive maintenance on all equipment used (engraver, label printer).
  7. Receive all incoming shipments and ensure that all work orders on the shipping dock are processed in a timely manner.
  8. Receive incoming parts and forward parts and receipts to inspection department.
  9. Receive incoming shipments in the ERP system and verify packing list against purchase orders.
  10. Process incoming nuclide receipts and inspections.
  11. Process packaging of all orders and ensure that all packaging meets regulations.
  12. Perform engraving and inspection of capsules and ensure all engraving jobs are performed within a timely manner.
  13. Travel between the Burbank and Valencia facilities to deliver materials, mail, etc.

Requirements:

  • Minimum education (or substitute experience) required: High School Diploma
  • Minimum experience required: At least one year’s experience in shipping and/or receiving or packaging.
  • Abilities and skills required:
    1. Must be able to pass basic math skills test.
    2. Knowledge of ALARA
    3. Good attention to detail
    4. Excellent communication skills
    5. Clean driving record
    6. Knowledge of FedEx, UPS, and carrier shipments
    7. Ability to lift 50 pounds.
    8. Ensure work is consistent with Radiological Safety Management
    9. Ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize workload.
    10. Forklift certified. Complete training in Dangerous Goods shipping requirement (49 CFR/IATA)
    11. Trained and qualified in radioactive materials.
    12. Knowledge of IATA and 49 CFR regulations; certifications a plus
    13. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and shipping databases.
