Lutron Electronics Co., Inc has an immediate opening for a Mechanical Technician at our Corporate Headquarters in Coopersburg, PA.

Mechanical Technicians at Lutron work in a hands-on environment as members of cross-functional engineering teams – supporting the development of new products. They work closely with some of the best engineers in the industry and can be involved in the product development process from initial concept, through the development, testing, manufacturing, and support phases.

As part of their career development, our technicians rotate through our multiple engineering teams, gaining exposure to the broad range of technologies employed in our products. A mentoring program, tuition reimbursement, along with continued learning through “Lutron University” enhances the professional and intellectual advancement of our technicians.

• Modeling of custom mechanical parts and assemblies in Creo
• Perform hands-on tasks such as prototype building
• Execute mechanical testing on new products
• Perform design tweaks to improve design quality and facilitate easier assembly
• Support documentation and part specification for existing products
• Write visual aids and notebooks to guide Production during assembly
• Part verification and documentation of assembly tolerance stack analysis
• Multi task at a high level; drive 5-10 small (dynamic) projects in parallel
• Work with Engineering and Quality teams to gain consensus on part changes

• Associates Degree required in Drafting, Mechanical Design or Mechanical Engineering Technology with a minimum 3.0 GPA
• 1 - 3 years of experience with product development/support
• Interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships within the team and the organization
• Computer skills required: General (MS Word and Excel), Advanced Excel skills are a plus
• Experience with 2D/3D CAD software is a preferred, Pro/Engineer - CREO experience is a plus
