JOB SUMMARY:
The Admissions & Financial Aid Coordinator provides support in the Office of Academic Affairs for the Harvey S. Peeler Jr. College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) as it pertains to recruitment, admissions and support of our students. Reporting to the Director of Admissions and Student Services, this coordinator will implement and document the admissions policies and processes of the college. Additionally, the role will aid in matriculation of accepted students and coordinate their financial support during the 4-year program. Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB DUTIES:
40% - Essential - Admissions Cycle Management:
Manage WebAdmit/VMCAS, Slate, and other programs and software platforms used in the collection and review of applicant material and information, ensuring timeline adherence. Provide technical support to CVM Admissions Committee members throughout the admissions review cycle to ensure materials and decisions workflows run smoothly. Perform preliminary assessment of applicant packets for completeness. Maintain accurate data and metrics related to applicant information and contact with prospective students. Serve as a staff contributor on the CVM Admissions Committee. Assist with recruiting and training CVM Admissions Committee members in the review and interview of applicants.
30% - Essential - Admissions, Recruitment and Matriculation Management:
Communicate the CVM admission standards and requirements to prospective students and advisors by serving as the primary point of contact for all related inquiries. Aid in the development and production of recruiting materials, such as the website prospectus/brochure, handouts, and presentations by working with Marketing & Communications.
Conduct group presentations and 1-on-1 counseling to prospective students. Collaborate with other coordinators in the Office of Academic Affairs to create the number one student experience. Represent the college in the AAVMC admissions and recruitment community and at annual meeting.
30% - Essential - Matriculation and Financial Aid:
Collaborate with the central Clemson University office of financial aid, advise students on the process for FASFA and scholarships, and disseminate financial aid information to students. Collect and review residency information for South Carolina residency in collaboration with Clemson University office of financial aid. Provide matriculation information to accepted/admitted students and work with registrar and financial aid (plus IT and other pertinent offices) to ensure timelines are met.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education - Bachelor's Degree
Experience - 1+ year of experience working in student services or admissions
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
Experience working in student services or admissions at the graduate level in higher education is preferred.
Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
Self-directed with an excellent ability to adhere to strict timelines

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Experience working in student services or admissions at the graduate level in higher education is preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Overnight Travel - 5%
