Brown Industrial Construction is a heavy civil construction company specializing in Clearing & Grubbing, Excavation & Embankment, Sub-Surface Drainage, Material Placement, Soil Stabilization, Concreted Paving, Deep Foundations, Bridge Construction, & related Structural Concrete. We are seeking an experienced Full-Time Survey & Design Manager to be responsible for Highway & Bridge Design, Survey, & Layout. site calibrations, construction layout, machine control setups and topographic surveys for the construction of Highways and Bridges. Qualified candidates will hold a Professional Land Survey (PLS) license.
The Survey & Design Manager is responsible for overseeing surveying and design operations to ensure the accuracy and quality of construction projects. This role involves self-performance & management of field surveyor staff, coordinating with project managers and construction teams, and ensuring compliance with design drawings and specifications. The Survey & Design Manager will also be responsible for designing and implementing machine control models and providing technical support for field operations.
This position offers a unique opportunity for a seasoned professional to establish and lead a new survey department, with the autonomy to recruit and manage their own team and resources. Prior experience in managing a survey department or team is essential.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. The position regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The position lifts heavy objects, walks and stands for long periods of time and performs strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. The employee lifts, pushes, pulls or carries objects; uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue; and effectively jumps, sprints or throws objects. The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination. The position requires the ability to quickly move arms and legs. The employee must have excellent stamina.
