Description:
Position Purpose:
The Business Systems Manager oversees the technical/software support function which assists Bank employees who use the Jack Henry banking system including Accounting, Deposit, Retail, and Loan platform processing. Assists with a variety of other ancillary applications. Responsible for the analysis and problem-solving for system-related issues.
Description of Duties, Responsibilities and Expectations:
Maintain regular interaction with the senior officers of the Bank regarding software and support issues/problems.
Interact with the Bank's Compliance Department on regulatory requirements and the impact they have on potential system changes, to provide balance between operating ease and Bank/customer interests relating to the areas of loans, deposits, and retail operations.
Facilitate team meetings, providing input, direction and prioritization.
Supervises direct reports by hiring, coaching, counseling, training, disciplining and terminating as appropriate. Conducts fair, honest, and timely performance appraisals within the timeframe established.
Review incoming projects and requests; validate requests and work with requestors for additional information, as needed.
Determine if request needs to be discussed and assign to appropriate individual.
Work closely with other departments on projects including but not limited to Business Solutions, PC/Networking area, and other various departments within the Bank.
Manage the software support staff by assigning new projects, managing due date and progress of projects.
Participate in project meetings which directly interface to Jack Henry core system.
Maintain user authority and rights in Jack Henry system and associated ancillary applications.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:
Ten to fifteen years' experience in program trouble-shooting and basic programming, preferably with Jack Henry systems.
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology or systems analysis.
The ability to motivate or influence others is a material part of the job, requiring a significant level of diplomacy and trust.
Obtain cooperation with both internal and external departments and organizations.
Solid working knowledge of the Jack Henry operating system and the various programs it supports.
Solid knowledge of the various bank departments and their needs and procedures regarding the Jack Henry system.
Efficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.
Ability to become proficient in use of specific software required for position.
Self-motivated, independent judgment, thoroughness, accuracy, and organizational skills required.
Detail oriented with strong analytical skills; critical information-seeking skills.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to work under deadlines with frequent interruptions; ability to balance multiple projects/activities with varying deadlines.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Work involves some travel within the Bank footprint to attend various meetings or training.
