Responsibilities

Position: 3rd Shift Sunday - Thursday/10:00PM - 6:30AM
Shift Premium: 15% of your base salary added to regularly determined earnings for all work performed

Summary Independently performs a variety of complex precision machining operations utilizing CNC or manual controlled machine tools to produce components to exacting tolerances and dimensions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Setting up and operating a CNC and manually controlled machines such as lathes, milling machines, precision grinders, gun drills, etc to make aerospace parts to sketch.
• Using a variety of machinist's hand tools and precision measuring instruments that monitor and verify drawing/work order requirements are being met.
• Making standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work, tooling.
• Monitoring and verifying quality in accordance with manufacturing planning, quality plans, and engineering drawings
• Ensuring part quality by adjusting machine controls as necessary
• Meeting production deadlines by following manufacturing schedule and procedures
• Working with support resources and cell leaders to resolve production problems when they arise.
• Maintaining a safe working environment by adhering to safety policies, contributing to risk mitigation management teams, and keeping all work areas clean.
• Contributing to team effort by maintaining a positive attitude.
• Continuously striving to find ways to make manufacturing process more efficient and effective
• Observing and listening to machine operation to detect malfunctions, such as worn or damaged cutting tools, following best machining practices.
• Cleaning machine, tooling, parts and performing machine TPM requirements.
• Contributing to the overall effectiveness of the machine shop through participation in FOD, 5S, TPM, PM, and Process Improvement programs.
• May train others on job tasks they are proficient in.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand or walk up to 8 hours/day
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and depth perception.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Two-year technical degree in a related field preferred

Machine Operator 1
- One (1) year of experience running and setting up manually controlled machine tool
Machine Operator 2
- Three (3) years of experience running and setting up manually controlled machine tools; One (1) year of experience with multi-axis CNC machine tools
Machine Operator 3
- Seven (7) years of experience running and setting up manually controlled machine tools; Five (5) year of experience with multi-axis CNC machine tools

Demonstrated Experience
- Precision measuring tools, gauges and other inspection devices
- Part drawings/blueprints, dimensioning, and tolerancing including GD&T
- Shop Math
- Basic understanding and application of GD&T, CNC Machine Tools and G-code and DNC Controls
- Machine preventative and corrective maintenance including machine troubleshooting
- Demonstrated experience in lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and waste reduction concepts

Position Pay Range: $19.50 - $36.00 Per Hour. Hiring range and position pay range may differ, commensurate with education level, qualifications, and experience.
