Assistant Women's Soccer Coach
The University of Pittsburgh, Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach. This is a full-time, twelve month position. This position reports directly to the Head Women’s Soccer Coach and is primarily responsible for on-field coaching and recruiting. Other job duties will include acting as liaison to various areas within the Athletic Department such as: strength and conditioning, marketing, academic support, life skills, equipment, fundraising, and others. Additionally, analyzing video, coordinating with the compliance office on student-athlete housing and admissions, maintaining countable athletically-related activity logs, planning team travel, and other duties as assigned by the Head Women’s Soccer Coach. Compliance with Athletic Department, University, Atlantic Coast Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations is required.
Assists the Head Coach with all aspects of a sports program. Recruits athletes, mentors athletes, fosters athletic, emotional, and academic group of student athletes. Oversees sports equipment, practice plans and schedules, skill development, designs coaching strategies. Oversees public and media relations. Coordinates team travel and schedule. Adheres to all rules and regulations.
Coaching - Carries out coaching assignments during daily work-outs, practices, and scheduled events.
Recruiting - Recruits student athletes; assists with departmental recruiting activities and carries out scouting assignments.
Athletic Department Liaison - Liaison to various areas within the Athletic Department such as: strength and conditioning, marketing, academic support, life skills, equipment, fundraising, and others.
Team Coordination - Analyzing video, coordinating with the compliance office on student-athlete housing and admissions, maintaining countable athletically-related activity logs, and planning team travel.
Other duties as assigned by the head coach.
Must stand for long periods of time at games and practices. May participate in drills or practices. May have to lift or transport equipment. Instructing and demonstrating physical skills while coaching; extensive travel via car, air, and bus.
