Summary:

The Audiocisual (AV) Technician - III has extensive experience with the work involved in the construction and AV/IT trades and is responsible for ensuring that the crew at the job site is carrying out their tasks as expected and in accordance with the project plan. The Audiocisual (AV) Technician - III must perform their job with little to no direct supervision. Job responsibilities and duties are not limited to those listed and are subject to additions and/or modifications.


Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience leading AV/IT system installations.
  • Valid WA EL06 Limited Energy License (required).
  • Ability to attain and maintain AVIXA CTS-I certification or complete a State Certified Apprenticeship program within two years of hire.
  • Certification for powder actuated tools.
  • Advanced proficiency with AV/IT tools and construction equipment (e.g., scaffolding, lifts, hoists, pulleys).
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Windows and Microsoft Office.
  • Physical ability to:
    • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
    • Climb ladders or scaffolding.
    • Work in kneeling, crouching, or standing positions for extended periods.
  • Proven ability to work independently or as part of a team in diverse work environments, including executive boardrooms and active construction sites.
  • Strict adherence to safety standards when working with construction hazards, electricity, and at heights


Responsibilities:

  • Assign work priorities to crew members and maintain crew morale and safety.
  • Provide on-the-job training for:
    • Mechanical installations, cable pulling, termination techniques, and best practices.
    • Basic equipment setup and configuration, including adherence to state and local low-voltage codes.
  • Mentor and train new hires and junior installation staff as directed by management.
  • Act as the primary point of contact between the installation crew and project leadership.
  • Monitor project timelines and ensure all tasks are completed within estimated labor hours.
  • Report daily job progress, issues, and any scope, schedule, or cost changes to the Foreman or Project Manager.
  • Lead physical installation efforts, including:
    • Completing wire pulls and equipment terminations according to specifications.
    • Installing AV systems (e.g., speakers, projectors, displays) and testing for expected performance.
  • Maintain and update project documentation, including as-built drawings.
  • Ensure the safety and protection of tools, equipment, and materials on-site, including owner-furnished items.
  • Protect interior finishes and maintain a clean, hazard-free work environment.
  • Gather equipment manuals and unused materials for handover to the Project Manager upon project completion.
  • Attend site construction meetings and project safety meetings as needed.
  • Follow OSHA and company safety standards at all times.
  • Attend required training classes and maintain certifications as directed by management.
  • Maintain an 85% billable workload by contributing to engineering and technical tasks.
