As a Print Tech Intern under the NASA End-User Services & Technologies (NEST) contract, you will be involved in supporting the print infrastructure and technology needs at NASA. This includes assisting in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of printers, copiers, and multifunction devices (MFDs). You will gain hands-on experience in managing print technologies, optimizing print workflows, and ensuring the smooth operation of devices across NASA’s facilities.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with printer installations and configurations: Help with setting up new printers, copiers, and MFDs, including configuring network settings, installing drivers, and ensuring proper connectivity.
- Monitor print device performance: Assist in tracking the performance of printers and MFDs, ensuring they are operating efficiently and that all service levels are met.
- Support printer fleet management: Help manage and optimize the print fleet across various locations, including tracking usage and maintenance needs.
- Assist with software and driver updates: Help ensure all print devices are running the latest software, firmware, and driver updates to maintain functionality and security.
- Provide user support and training: Help end users with setting up printers, resolving basic print issues, and configuring printing preferences.
- Help manage print queues: Monitor print queues and ensure that documents are processed in a timely manner, resolving any issues with print jobs or networked devices.
- Work with vendors and OEMs: Coordinate with external vendors and OEMs to deploy new devices, procure parts, and manage device warranties.
- Document print-related processes: Assist in maintaining records for print device installations, maintenance activities, and performance reports.
What We’re Looking For:
- Currently enrolled in a degree program in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field at an accredited college/university.
- Strong interest in print technologies, device management, and workflow optimization.
- Basic understanding of printers, copiers, and multifunction devices (MFDs) and their components (e.g., toner, drum kits, paper trays).
- Familiarity with common operating systems (Windows, macOS) and printing protocols (e.g., IP printing).
- Comfortable working with printer management software and basic networking (e.g., configuring networked printers, troubleshooting connectivity issues).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with internal teams and end users.
- Ability to work independently and in a team, with a strong focus on customer service and continuous improvement.
Bonus Points:
- Experience with printer management or working in a print technician role.
- Familiarity with print management software (e.g., PrinterLogic and Printfleet) or managing print queues in an enterprise environment.
- Exposure to managing large fleets of printers or multifunction devices.
- Basic knowledge of networking and IP configuration for networked printers.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
- US citizenship required.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $46,800.00 - $84,600.00
