Description Overview The Quality Assurance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing quality assurance programs on the factory production floor. The Quality Assurance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing factory Hygienist and Associate Quality Engineers. The Hygienist and Quality Engineers are responsible for ensuring compliance to facility procedures, pre-requisite programs, quality monitoring schemes, and cGMPs. The Quality Assurance Supervisor is expected to be able to provide expertise and support to the Quality Assurance team. Scope of the Role Quality Systems: Manage, enforce, and analyze trends and verification activities related to Quality Assurance programs. Ensure robust root cause investigations are completed for deviations and product non-conformance. Helps to outline and implement corrective and preventive actions. Acts a key leader for ensuring timely completions of deviation reports. Assist in analyzing data relating to facility pre-requisite programs such as environmental monitoring, pest control, foreign body prevention to reduce adverse findings and improve food safety systems. Leadership: Ensure completion of internal assessments and provide production floor support to assure the performance of quality systems, reporting effectiveness to management and proposing actions for improvement. This position will support four direct reports who work a 2-2-3 schedule. This role will provide support to first shift. The position will have a tentative schedule of 5AM to 2PM. People and Know-How: Ensure compliance with factory procedures and practices by having a strong coaching presence on the production floor. Work directly with Quality Assurance team to ensure implementation and compliance to facility Quality Monitoring Schemes, cGMPs, and pre-requisite programs. Ensures product is complaint to internal and external standards. Drive improvement projects using feedback from cross-functional teams to improve preventive controls and reduce deviations and non-conformances. Quality Auditing and Verification: The Quality Assurance teams provide production floor verification of Quality Monitoring Schemes, cGMPs, and pre-requisite programs. Oversee execution of GMP auditing program and other verification activities. Ensure facility is complaint with Quality Assurance procedures and that records are maintained appropriately. Quality Mastership: Support Continuous Improvement initiatives in the quest for zero defect. Support activities to achieve compliance with the Quality Management System requirements and other applicable instructions and standards. Identify non-conformance issues and coordinate Quality/Food Safety risk analysis. Performs other duties as assigned. Experience Required Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, or related field or equivalent work experience in food manufacturing quality role. 2+ years of direct leadership experience of a team or group Operational Experience: Experience in pre-requisite programs, deviation report writing, and CAPA management. Working knowledge of environmental monitoring Experience working in a highly regulated manufacturing environment. Working knowledge of cGMPs and FDA requirements Supervisory experience with a coaching mindset SKILLS: Excellent written and oral communication skills Knowledge of Microsoft Suite systems Working knowledge of pathogens and environmental monitoring Ability to prioritize, multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment. Leadership and people development skills Ability to problem solve and make quick accurate decisions. Ability to lead a cross-functional team to deliver results.
