Essential Functions

These are the job duties required of the position.

Essential Functions
  • Coordinates the day-to-day activities of the research, to include supporting the need of researchers using servers such as software licenses renewal and data storage, negotiating with vendors, obtaining quotes & arrange for demos of research equipment, coordinating research team meetings and other meetings as needed.
  • Maintains project websites.
  • Develops research newsletters.
  • Supports data collection, tracking research milestones and goals.
  • Supports management of internal and external proposals developed by the project teams and prepares documents related to research activities, such as project progress/final reports and IRB submissions.
  • Supports the research team in the development and management of workforce development of summer research programs for undergraduate students and high school teachers, to include assisting with recruiting and selecting summer program participants, working with central campus services (housing, accounting etc.) for participants, and coordinating research training activities and workshops for the summer research program.
  • Supports the research team in the development and management of workforce development of the New Faculty Seed Grant Program for early-career researchers, to include assisting with program solicitation development, advertising opportunities, proposal submissions, reviews, and awarding of seed grants.
  • Supports the research team in the development and management of workforce development of the Edge AI certificate program for industry professionals, to include assisting with developing the new courses and the certificate program application materials, advertising, recruitment, and course implementation process for the certificate program, as well as the scholarship selection and management process for the certificate program.
  • Supports fiscal oversight of sponsored project budgets, monitoring, and planning to ensure project activities are occurring in sync with budget and project timeline.
  • Works closely with Principal Investigators and the team to ensure activities and personnel are charged to correct sponsored projects and addresses any potential budget issues (carryforward requests, prior approval requests. etc.).
  • Works with the research team, Human Resources, and the Graduate School to hire and maintain research faculty, Postdocs, and students.
  • Assists with administrative aspects of projects such as overseeing subcontract executions and payments as well as distributing and reconciling participant payments.
  • Coordinates purchase orders of research materials and supplies.
  • Coordinates travel and travel reimbursements, and maintains fixed asset inventory records and assists with other financial needs for the research.
  • Regular and prompt attendance.
  • Ability to work schedule as defined and additional hours as required.
  • Related duties as required.
