Position Summary:

Gaven Industries in Saxonburg, PA, is seeking a highly skilled, efficient, and passionate leader to supervise our production operations on the second shift, which is generally between the hours of 3:30 p.m.- 12:00 midnight. The Production Supervisor’s responsibilities include ensuring efficient production workflow, meeting production targets, maintaining equipment, supervising production staff, and ensuring our products meet the Gaven standard of quality. The ideal candidate should be a proficient leader with organizational abilities, effective communication skills, and an in-depth knowledge of production process/es.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with leadership to supervise production resources
  • Oversee daily operations and adjusting as necessary
  • Coordinate work schedules and assignments for team members
  • Ensure production plans are in place and followed
  • Drive the manufacturing process to ensure smooth execution
  • Work with Manufacturing Engineer to evaluate new tools and equipment are on a preventative maintenance schedule and available for Production
  • Communicate job expectations and provide feedback to team members
  • Train, mentor, and supervise production workers
  • Identify, troubleshoot and resolve production issues
  • Implement Shop Floor Best Practices and workflow
  • Drive a Safety Culture through maintaining a clean and safe work environment
  • Collaborate with Production Planning, Engineering, and other departments to improve production performance
  • Support the INFOR optimization efforts to simplify workflows, reduce waste, and help identify process improvements to minimize impact to shop floor
  • Conduct performance reviews and managing any disciplinary issues
  • Prepare and maintain production reports and records through INFOR and other visibility tools as requested
  • Additional duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills
  • Plan, schedule, and manage production tasks and projects
  • Enforce safety policies and procedures (in-house, industry standards, and regulatory) to decrease the potential for team member injuries
  • Ensure final product meets quality standards and customer specifications
  • Implement cost-effective solutions to improve production efficiency and output
  • Ensure all resources and assets are used efficiently and correctly
  • Train and mentor production team members and assign them to job duties to ensure success
  • Resolve issues related to production in a timely manner

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Proven as a Production Supervisor or similar role
  • Experience in quality standards, health, and safety regulations
  • Experience in reporting on key production metrics
  • Basic proficient in MS Office and ERP/INFOR software
  • Technical degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial, or similar with 10-years of experience in supervisory roles. Extended practical experience will be considered as substitute

Physical Environment/Working Conditions:

Manufacturing shop environment, safety glasses and shoes must be worn at all times in the shop
