Position: Professional Specialist in Healthcare

Description: The Professional Specialist in Healthcare is a six-month position with the possibility of renewal. The School of Public and International Affairs seeks a collaborative professional with experience in healthcare policy to advance the School's health-related policy initiatives. The specialist will be expected to participate in and contribute to the intellectual and academic life of the School. Responsibilities will include conceiving of, coordinating, and attending meetings; preparing policy briefs and research summaries, and communicating with a wide range of stakeholders. This position entails both creative and supportive roles: helping to devise and sustain work within Princeton University and with collaborators - in academia, government, and local and national healthcare organizations. Candidates with an existing network of relationships and a working knowledge of the healthcare landscape will be given extra consideration. Reporting directly to the Senior Associate Dean for Academic Administration, responsibilities include: *Engaging in health policy and pre-med related student programming on campus. *Teaching gap-filling health policy-related courses when needed to support SPIA curriculum. *Conduct project/policy research including analyzing data and synthesizing information from a variety of sources. *Produce high-quality reports, articles, and policy briefs based on research findings, and present findings to diverse audiences, including policymakers, academics, and practitioners. *Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant policy issues and trends related to strategic priorities in key policy domains. *Coordinate and attend seminars, workshops, and other events, and actively participate in discussions and debates on Princeton's campus and off. The position is ideal for a candidate with a medical background and the medical profession and comes with an additional title of Lecturer if engaged in undergraduate teaching. Qualifications Candidates must have: (1) an MD or equivalent (2) experience or interest in teaching (3) minimum 3 years relevant experience since medical school or significant professional experience prior to medical school.
