Job Summary:
The Mechanic Trainee position is designed for individuals passionate about learning the fundamentals of equipment maintenance and repair in a hands-on environment. Under the guidance of experienced mechanics, you will gain valuable skills and knowledge to support your growth in this field.
Essential Functions:
1. Dedication. Assist in routine maintenance and repair of heavy machinery, vehicles, and equipment.
2. Determined. Learn to troubleshoot mechanical issues under the supervision of senior mechanics.
3. Committed to serve. Perform basic inspections to identify wear and tear, leaks, and other common maintenance needs.
4. Protect family and friends. Safely operate tools and equipment to assist in repairs and replacements.
5. Results matter. Maintain accurate records of work completed and parts used.
6. Efficiency. Clean and organize the work area and tools to ensure a safe and efficient workspace.
7. Safety always wins. Adhere to all company safety standards and protocols during all maintenance activities.
Requirements, Education and Experience:
1. High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
2. Basic mechanical aptitude or prior hands-on experience in a workshop setting is a plus.
3. Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
4. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
5. Good communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members.
6. Physical ability to lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions.
7. A valid driver’s license is preferred.
8. Legal ability to work in the U.S.

Travel:
Position may require you to travel by personal vehicle to offices throughout the state of New York, and New England based on the needs of the business.
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
This position works both indoors and outdoors in hot, humid and inclement weather. Heavy work includes moving objects up to 50 lb. or more. This position works on or near moving mechanical parts and loud equipment. Requires the ability to stand for long periods of time as well as lifting, bending, squatting, walking, reaching, and repetitive motion.
