Description

We are seeking a Project Engineer Intern to join our Wagman General Construction team.

Wagman is a fourth generation, family-owned general contracting business serving the Mid-Atlantic and Southern Regions out of offices in Pennsylvania and Virginia. Wagman Heavy Civil's core competencies include design-build, bridges, structures, marine, modified concrete and geotechnical services. Wagman General Construction serves senior living, urban, institutional, healthcare and higher education markets.

This is a safety sensitive position requiring work on construction sites with various safety hazards inherent in heavy construction.

This position is subject to drug testing and compliance policies associated with our status as a Federal Contractor.

The following functions will be performed under the general direction of managers in various departments of the company:

Field:

• Assist on reviewing Submittals and Shop Drawings.

• Assist Project Coordinators with miscellaneous tasks.

• Visit multiple projects to attend meetings.

• Will perform other miscellaneous and varied tasks as directed by Project Management personnel.

Office:

• Make phone calls as directed in conjunction with assignments given to the Intern.

• May make copies, put together packets of information, perform filing and update records.

• Assist on multiple jobs for Operations.

• Will perform other miscellaneous and varied tasks as directed by supervisory personnel.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds from ground level to waist level.
  • Must have the ability to perform simple grasping and fine manipulation tasks with both hands. Must be able to reach and lift.
  • Required to have acceptable corrected vision (in both eyes) and acceptable corrected hearing.
  • Frequent standing and walking required throughout a scheduled work shift.
  • In the course of inspecting job sites, will on occasion be required to climb ladders.
  • Must be able to bend, squat, kneel and crawl.
  • Must be able to work (i.e., during job-site visits) outdoors in wet, muddy, cold, hot and humid weather.
  • Must be able to drive distances regularly within the company’s market area.
