The Assistant Director of Experiential Learning will support the development, implementation, and enhancement of experiential learning opportunities for Villanova undergraduate students. Reporting to and supporting the Associate Vice Provost, Integrated Student Experience, the Assistant Director of Experiential Learning will work closely with faculty, staff, students, and community partners to create impactful Second-Year Experience programs featuring integrative academic learning across disciplines, community engagement through meaningful service learning, co-curricular experiences embedded in dynamic living and learning communities.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Program Development: Assist in developing and implementing the Sophomore Service Learning Community, as well as new Second Year Experiences.
- Student Support: Provide guidance and support to students participating in experiential learning opportunities, including application processes, student leadership development, and coordination of programming.
- Service Learning and Partnership Building: Develop and maintain relationships with community partners for service learning opportunities. Collaborate with the St. Thomas of Villanova Center for the Common Good on communication with partners and tracking service hours and impact.
- Learning Communities and Faculty Collaboration: Work closely with faculty and other college stakeholders to design Sophomore Learning Communities to create additional distinctive experiences for second year students
- Assessment & Evaluation: Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of experiential learning programs, gather feedback from students and partners, and make data-driven recommendations for improvements.
- Administrative Duties: Oversee program logistics, coordinate events, and handle any other administrative tasks related to service learning and learning community programs, as assigned. Steward and manage program budgets and financial processes (Concur, NovaBuy), manage student employees, and support budget development and projections.
Minimum Qualifications:
Formal Education
Work Experience
- 3 years experience in experiential learning, service learning, learning communities, high impact practices, or a related field.
Work Skills
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of people.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work independently.
- Experience with program assessment and data analysis.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with learning management systems or other relevant software.
Specific Job Knowledge (e.g., knowledge of principles and procedures related to field and area)
- Strong understanding of best practices in service learning and learning communities.
Preferred Qualifications:
Formal Education
- Master’s degree in Education, Humanities, Social Sciences, or a related field.
