Position Summary:
The Senior Financial Analyst, Lab Operations is an integral contributor to the Laboratory Operations Finance team. This person is an expert in product cost and cost analysis and is a business partner to the Lab Operations leadership team; driving improved financial visibility and accountability, as well as increased profitability while maintaining world-class service and quality.
Core Responsibilities:
  • Support the implementation of a full standard cost system for our Clinical and Pharma laboratories
  • Partner with Lab Operations leadershipand Operations Financetoimplement daily, weekly or monthly reporting toolsto measureactual versus standard/baseline cost
  • Track and analyze trends, variances, concerns and opportunities regarding operations department cost center expenses and variances, headcount, and capital spending and provide proactive recommendations to optimize efficiency and productivity
  • Partner withCostAccounting to ensure accurate, timely financial results. Develop understanding of accrual process and balances through quarterly Balance Sheet reviews with Accounting team
  • Determine fixedand variablecostsand calculate and analyze volume leverage on fixed costs(e.g.indirect laborsalaries, rent andequipment)
  • Travel estimated at 10%
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Accounting or Finance from an accredited college or university; Master’s Degree (e.g. Finance, Business Administration, Accounting) preferred
  • 5+ years of combined related financial and accounting experience required;proven work experience as a cost accountantor cost analyst required.
  • Experience in manufacturing orlaboratoryenvironment strongly preferred.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and able to work effectively with all employee levels.
  • Familiarity with internal controls and audit procedures
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Advance Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, Power BI, Essbase (SmartView), and Hyperion strongly preferred.
