About the Team
Our Grocery Automation team delivers automation solutions that unlock capacity, accuracy, and speed to deliver customer and associate value specifically within our perishable grocery network. We are modernizing and building an agile and predictable end-to-end network to deliver consistent customer experience at the optimal cost.
In this role on the Perishable Automation Design Strategy team, you will be supporting the development of Walmart's Grocery Supply Chain long-term network strategy and Automation roadmap. You will partner with our Stores, Supply Chain, and Delivery teams to develop an end-to-end operating model of the future.
You will report to the Director, Automation Engineering, and leadership expectations will be discussed during the recruitment process. This role is located in Bentonville, Arkansas; a full relocation package is available, and we are not considering remote candidates. Anticipated travel for this role is 15-25%.
What you'll do:
- Data and Digital Literacy: Leverage data analysis tools to explore moderately complex data, develop and test hypotheses, use data to influence strategic work, and build and presents insights
- Advanced Analytics: Apply data analysis and data modeling techniques to establish, modify, and maintain data models and associated components
- Engineering Economics: Advise others on a variety of financial tools, techniques, and approaches and build business cases to provide full comparisons
- Business Acumen: Provide recommendations to business stakeholders to solve complex business issues
- Influential Communication: Organize thoughts; communicate articulately, confidently, credibly, and concisely within scope; and independently assemble and prepare documents, materials, and presentations that have a structure and logical flow and are based on relevant fact-based and data-driven information
- Partnership and Collaboration: Engage with team members on a periodic basis and analyze stakeholder needs
- Operational Excellence: Explain operational functions and key functional roles of own department or unit
- Mechatronics: Cite examples of usage or application of electrical design in automating supply chain processes; update existing CAD drawings; identify basic functions and features of a design and visualization system; describe common mechanical components of Distribution and Fulfillment Center equipment
- Automation System Design: Describe key measures of success associated with the use of automation machineries
- Process Flow Design: Interpret information to quantify the anticipated outcome of supply chain decisions
What you'll bring... - A Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Engineering
- 4+ years of Engineering experience - Supply Chain fulfillment, distribution , or analytics experience is a huge plus
- Passionate about problem-solving
- Data modeling experience; Expert-level Microsoft Excel user
- Previous experience with complex business cases and detailed financial models
- Comfortable influencing others, managing team members, and getting support from leadership
You'll sweep us off our feet if you....- Possess a Master's degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and at least 4 years of applied experience
- Are a data-driven, customer-centric strategic thinker who is passionate about solving complex problems, while being customer-centric
- Can work with details, but also see the big picture
- Are comfortable influencing others, managing stakeholders, getting buy-in from leadership, and communicating clearly

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
