Responsibilities

We seek an experienced Transportation Project Engineer. As a Project Engineer you will be pivotal in successfully executing civil engineering projects in the transportation sector. Your responsibilities will span the entire project lifecycle, from conceptualization to construction phase support. This role requires a seasoned professional capable of independently managing projects, leading a team of engineers, and fostering client relationships.

  • Lead the development of initial project design concepts and create comprehensive project plans, including staffing requirements and project schedules.
  • Execute project designs efficiently, managing resources within budgetary and scheduling constraints.
  • Oversee bid and construction phase engineering service support.
  • Serve as a project engineer, independently coordinating the efforts of engineers, designers/draft persons, and sub-consultants throughout project execution.
  • Established and nurtured client relationships, actively participating in client meetings during the day and night.
  • Contribute to marketing efforts, contractual development, and design implementation.
  • Manage the financial aspects of assigned engineering projects, adjusting work efforts to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Simultaneously manage multiple projects and clients, demonstrating strong organizational skills.
  • Utilize computer-assisted engineering and design software, including but not limited to AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other relevant tools, to prepare high-quality engineering and design documents.
  • Assume responsibility for project team quality system tasks as defined in Quality Assurance / Quality Control guidelines.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor construction progress and fulfill other duties outlined in contract documents.



  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in engineering from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • 7+ years of experience in the field or a related area.
  • Professional Engineer license (PE) required.
  • Proven expertise in managing transportation engineering projects from conception to completion.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to independently coordinate and lead a project team.
  • Excellent client management and communication skills, demonstrated through successful client interactions.
  • Proficiency in computer-assisted engineering and design software, including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, and other relevant tools.
