Computer Programming Specialist III - Military veterans preferred

GaN is looking for a Computer Programming Specialist III. This position serves as a subject matter expert providing technical guidance and information to meet requirements. Works independently with minimal guidance on complex projects and assignments. Tasks require expert level application of established methods, procedures, techniques, criteria, and programs. Write code to create, alter, or design software programs. Convert project specifications and statements of problems and procedures to detailed logical flow charts for coding into computer language. Develop and write computer programs to store, locate, and retrieve specific documents, data, and information. May program web sites. Provides functional and empirical analysis related to the design, development, and implementation of software systems, including, but not limited to application software, utility software, development software, and diagnostic software. Participates in the development of test strategies, devices, and systems.

Qualifications:

• Six (6) or more years of experience in business or manufacturing applications, data communications, systems software, communications software, and data base design and operations.
• Experience must demonstrate one (1) or more of the following:
  (1) Knowledge in one (1) or more of the following areas: C, C++, Java, and J2EE technologies, HTML, CGI, Perl, JavaScript, CSS, ASP, or SQL for webpage design and/or maintenance.
  (2) Expert-level skills with web publishing and graphics software, such as Dreamweaver, FrontPage, Photoshop, WEBTrends, FTP, and Visio.
  (3) Ability to design, implement, and maintain database using various software applications.
  (4) Working knowledge of SAS programming with an emphasis on data step processing, SAS/Macro, PROC SQL, SAS/Graph.
  (5) Working knowledge of IBM/MVS, UNIX, MS-DOS, Windows, LAN, and Microsoft Office.
