About the Position

We are seeking a skilled Commissioning and Close Out Manager with experience in building systems projects to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing commissioning plans, ensuring all systems and components are installed, tested, and fully operational according to project specifications. You will collaborate closely with clients to align expectations, oversee system testing and validation, and manage the punch list process. Additionally, you will ensure compliance with safety standards, conduct final inspections, and prepare necessary documentation for project closeout. By providing training and addressing any issues during the commissioning process, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of the project.

This is a long term, full-time, onsite position located in greater Washington DC area.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement commissioning plans, ensuring all systems and components are installed, tested, and operational according to the project specifications.
  • Conduct and manage system tests to verify that they meet design specifications and safety standards.
  • Maintain detailed records of all commissioning activities, including test results and any issues encountered.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their requirements and ensure that the commissioning process aligns with their expectations.
  • Identify and resolve any issues that arise during the commissioning process to keep the project on track.
  • Oversee final inspections to ensure all work is completed to the required standards and specifications.
  • Manage the punch list process, ensuring that all outstanding items are addressed and completed before project closeout.
  • Prepare and compile all necessary documentation, including operation manuals, warranties, and as-built drawings, for handover to the client.
  • Provide training on the operation and maintenance of the new systems and equipment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in engineering, construction management or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years' experience in the building systems industry with direct commissioning industry experience.
  • Proven experience coordinating a project management team and providing appropriate levels of support, coaching and influence.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Outlook, Work, Excel, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters degree in engineering, construction management, or related field.
  • Commissioning Certification Preferred (e.g., BCA, ASHRAE, or AEE)
  • 10+ years' experience in the building systems industry with direct commissioning industry experience.

Compensation Details

The salary range listed for this role is $150k-250k annually. The final salary offered is based on multiple factors and is thoughtfully aligned with each candidates level of experience, breadth of skills, total education achieved, certifications/licenses that have been obtained, etc.
