We are currently looking for a Director of Quality with expertise in Six Sigma and experience implementing quality assurance systems across multiple sites, preferably in regulated industries. The ideal candidate will have 10-15 years of relevant experience, strong leadership and communication skills, and a proven ability to drive continuous improvement. This role offers the flexibility of remote work, but requires up to 50% travel, with a preference for candidates based in the Midwest or Southeast. Experience in flexible packaging is preferred but not required.

Salary: Up to $110-130k (some flex)


Bonus: 15%

  • Strategic Leadership


    • Develop and drive the Packaging Quality Strategic Plan to ensure superior product quality.
    • Collaborate with the VP of Continuous Improvement and Quality to foster a culture focused on quality.
  • Quality Assurance


    • Implement quality best practices across internal and external stakeholders.
    • Establish quality standards for Dairy, Protein, and Pet Food sectors.
    • Benchmark and audit quality systems to ensure knowledge sharing and compliance.
  • Continuous Improvement


    • Define KPIs to promote continuous improvement and process enhancements.
    • Support initiatives to improve quality, minimize waste, and enhance workforce capabilities.
    • Promote and harmonize a continuous improvement culture across business units.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration


    • Work closely with Operations, Continuous Improvement, and Supply Chain for alignment.
    • Drive cross-functional collaboration and quality improvement initiatives across departments.

  • Technical Skills


    • Strong Six Sigma background with data-driven quality improvement processes (Black Belt preferred).
    • Proficiency in quality assurance (rather than QC) with a focus on implementing and sustaining robust quality systems.
    • Familiarity with regulated industries, especially food safety, medical packaging, or flexible packaging.
  • Leadership and Communication


    • Ability to lead and drive quality improvements across plants, influencing without direct authority.
    • Strong communication skills, particularly in articulating complex issues to stakeholders and leading corrective actions.
    • Experience in customer-facing roles to address and resolve quality issues effectively.
  • Experience


    • Minimum 10–15 years in manufacturing with progression to multi-site quality management roles.
    • Experience in setting quality specifications, conducting capability studies, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Industry Knowledge


    • Flexible packaging industry experience preferred but not mandatory; regulated environment experience valued.
  • Personal Attributes


    • Change-driven, with a problem-solving mindset to resolve quality issues for profitability and customer satisfaction.
    • Ability to work independently, drive initiatives, and fit into a collaborative, entrepreneurial culture.
  • Travel and Location


    • Ideally based in the Midwest or Southeast with about 50% travel to various sites expected.
