How You'll Help Transform Healthcare:

Leadership responsibilities for multiple practice locations in the specialties of General Surgery, Vascular Surgery, and Urology in the Western Region of the Department of Surgery.



Develops and sustains a cohesive, highly functioning leadership team within multiple, diverse and complex practices. Typically supervising fewer than three (3) Practice Managers, provides leadership in support of high quality patient-centered care, an exceedingly competent and engaged staff, and the achievement of fiscal, score card and process improvement goals and objectives. Plans and develops strategies for new and optimal health care processes and services.

  • Works with leadership to formulate and implement the vision of the service line and to provide oversight and support for organizational activities. Applies key financial concepts and analysis to decision making. Oversees standards of care, clinical services and development of budgets for all departments within the service line to support continued fiscal growth.
  • Oversees the direction of multiple, complex and potentially large practices to assure cost effectiveness and achievement of fiscal and scorecard goals and budgets.
  • Oversees the development of operational goals, plans and fiscal management including budget development, implementation and monitoring of multiple, complex areas.
  • Provides guidance in the development and production of grant proposals, data collection and integration of research with clinical practices.
  • Holds self and team accountable for maintaining the highest possible performance standards in order to serve a diverse group of customers (patients, employees, physicians, colleagues).
  • Maintains productive, collaborative relationships with physicians, other members of the management team, other care delivery sites organization-wide, and pre- and post-hospital providers.
  • Leads performance improvement process. Monitors and evaluates customer satisfaction with services. Collaboratively develops and implements programs to continuously enhance customer satisfaction within multiple, complex areas.
  • Provides on-going effective communication and feedback systems for leadership, staff, patients, families, and physicians.
  • Communicates appropriate information to stakeholders in an ongoing, timely, and accurate fashion.
  • Strategically plans for growth, staffing, services, educational opportunities and effective performance improvement in collaboration with Human Resources.
  • Responsible for compliance with applicable regulatory, licensure and accrediting standards where applicable.

What We Require:


Education: Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred. Healthcare discipline preferred or related field approved by Vice President.

Experience: 5 years' experience in management, preferable health care environment demonstrating increased and/or diversified responsibility for related service areas.

Licensure/Certification
: In some offices an RN/BSN license may be required due to staffing model and grant specifications.

Other: Advanced leadership, planning, organizational, and accounting skills to manage multiple and potentially large, complex areas and to direct the successful completion of initiatives and achievement of fiscal goals and process improvement. Maintains a current knowledge of the healthcare and practice management industry.Demonstrated interpersonal and communicationsabilities to support team cohesiveness and a respectful inclusive culture of service excellence.Ability to engage in public contact work and public speaking. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Access and Power Point. Ability to use electronic medical records.Develops and sustains a cohesive, highly functioning leadership team with multiple, diverse and complex practices while providing 24 hour accountability.
