Portfolio Management

This position is responsible for supervising the effective servicing and management of the New York Metro Commercial Real Estate commercial portfolio. The Commercial Banking Supervisor will be responsible for managing the team of Commercial Banking Officers/Managers and the Commercial Banking Specialists. This individual will partner with the CRE Leadership in accordance with the Bank’s goals to maintain the integrity of the commercial loan portfolio while attaining growth, reduce losses and enhance profitability and customer satisfaction.

In this position, you will manage and coach the staff of Portfolio Officers (PO) and Commercial Banking Specialists (CBS) that support the Bank’s multi-billion-dollar New York Metro CRE portfolio.

The collective duties will include:

  • Manage the annual review process, loan extensions, modifications, delinquencies, and internal and external audit reviews.
  • Responsible for managing a team to maintain loan files for the portfolio, tracking/collection of business and financial reporting and loan repayment activities.
  • Partner with CRE Team Leader and Relationship Managers for effective communication with credit, risk, legal and clients.
  • Responsible for managing the portfolio pipeline to ensure deadlines are met for upcoming renewals and extensions.
  • Work collaboratively with the team during internal and external audits. Act in a liaison role between the groups.
  • Work on special projects to support the CRE team and respond to inquiries from internal stakeholders.
  • Independently research, investigate and resolve customer inquiries.
  • Ensure customer's compliance with financial reporting and covenant requirements.
  • Order Appraisals and Environmental Reports as analysis of loan warrants
  • Collect, review and analyze the financial statements, corporate tax returns and personal tax returns from the customers.
  • Act as liaison with various units responsible for providing service to the commercial customer including, but not limited to, the processing of loans, payments, financial analysis, statements, etc. and ensure respective databases are accurate and up to date with customer information.
  • Assist the relationship officers in building effective relationships and trust with clients by listening to their needs and using that information to understand possible changing situations, needs and desired benefits.
  • Compile and analyze data and generate management reports as needed.
  • Responsible for managing the relationship with third party services.
  • Manage the application of payments on the loan system to conform to the terms of the loan documents.
  • Arrange and manage loan closings of renewals.

To be considered, you will need:

Minimum Required: Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in Business Administration or related field and 7 years of experience managing commercial credit and non-credit products.

  • Provides timely and professional support to all internal/external customers and vendors.
  • Prioritizes regular workload, special tasks and concurrent projects, allocating time and resources to ensure that work is completed accurately and efficiently within an established time frame.

  • Works with minimal supervision.
  • Establishes and maintains effective, collaborative work relationships both internally and externally.
  • Maintains strict adherence to bank confidentiality protocols.

Salary Range Information

Our base salary for this position located in New York generally ranges between $175,000.00 and $200,000.00 annually, depending on business need and on your qualifications and experience. Base salary does not include incentive compensation, commission, or any other type of remuneration or benefits.
