flagship Wall Street Journal, America's largest newspaper by paid circulation; Barron's,

Jones Risk & Compliance, Dow Jones Newswires, OPIS and Chemical Market

Analytics. Dow Jones is a division of News Corp (Nasdaq: NWS, NWSA; ASX: NWS,

About the Team:

Since 1921, Barron's has delivered the need-to-know information for all those seeking to

accumulate wealth, and provided a robust understanding of what propels the markets

and business community. At the forefront, Barron's is a catalyst for economic change

with a powerful network of influential business leaders, financial advisors, institutional

and affluent individual investors among its audience. Readers look to the publication for

daily unparalleled financial information and expertise to drive results in our world and

the markets.

About the Role:

Barron's, one of the leading financial and investing publications in the U.S., is seeking a high-energy reporter who can insightfully cover breaking business news and knows the U.S. market well. The role is part of the Barron's trending news team, which eschews commodity stories in favor of delivering analysis-or an interesting angle-about the news in the timeframe readers are searching to understand news events. The reporter may have the opportunity to write longer reported-out features and analytical pieces so some experience of this would be an advantage.

You Will:

  • Track breaking news of publicly traded companies, financial markets, and other subjects of interest to Barron's readers
  • Generate high-level analysis and angles - especially investing ones - on the day's biggest stories
  • Write quickly and cleanly under tight deadlines

You Have:
  • The ability to write cleanly and quickly on a tight deadline
  • The capability to offer insights into the biggest stories of each day using FAQs, charts, and other news-you-can-use story forms.
  • Passionate about markets and finance, energized by breaking news
  • Relentlessly committed to factual accuracy
  • Familiarity with corporate balance sheets, financial valuations, and investing principles would be ideal
  • At least 7-10 years of experience working as a reporter at a national or trade business news publication
