Overview
Outreach: Maintain database of BCCPC researcher grants, papers and other achievements; produce quarterly newsletter of BCCPC activities and accomplishments for distribution to OHSU researchers and interested community members; manage listserv membership; write updates for BCCPC website; post on social media
Internal Event Coordination: Perform event coordination and audience generation for monthly scientific seminar series and for annual educational conferences, working with seminar and conference planners (faculty) and Center staff; coordinate annual scientific presentations by BCCPC program leaders for OHSU audience and for BCCPC External Advisory Board
External Events: Coordinate BCCPC presence at national events, manning booth, recruiting volunteers and providing support; maintain inventory of marketing materials and supplies; fulfill requests for educational materials
Research Projects: Draft language and produce ideas for grant proposals supporting community engagement, with a special focus on URM populations; for funded and unfunded outreach initiatives, monitor and help to guide the work to make sure deliverables are being met; work with researchers to communicate to new patient populations; engage with ideas/initiatives that will raise awareness of pancreatic cancer in URM communities and populations
Responsibilities
Bachelor’s degree in related field
2 years related experience
Understanding of and commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility for all patients
Ability to communicate clearly, effectively, pleasantly, cooperatively, and discretely with patients, physicians, team members, and the general public – orally and in writing, with individuals and groups, in-person and in virtual settings
Proven project management and event coordination skills
Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team
Attention to detail and proven ability to coordinate meeting logistics
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications; willingness to learn new software and technologies; social media and website savvy
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Qualifications
Advanced degree in biomedical science or public health
