Job Description

Hoefer Welker is seeking a qualified Senior Medical Equipment Procurement Specialist. Candidate must have minimum of 10 years of experience purchasing medical equipment for healthcare new project construction, and an in-depth knowledge of medical equipment devices and experience with hospital supply chain organizations. Our project portfolio is extremely diverse in project type, scale, and location. Essential Responsibilities:

  • Knowledge of medical equipment supply chain, procurement validation, milestone scheduling, pre-construction equipment coordination and equipment installation coordination.
  • Develop procurement activities and lea-time schedules.
  • Administer Request for Quotes (RFQ) to medical equipment suppliers and review for accuracy against design specifications.
  • Interact and lead discussions with client's supply chain and project teams to source equipment appropriate for each project.
  • Lead other internal medical equipment procurement team resources.
  • Manage multiple procurement-related projects and deliverables simultaneously.
  • Travel as needed.

Job Requiremetns

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s Degree or 10 years of experience in the healthcare supply chain industry, or performing as a Senior Medical Equipment Procurement Buyer, is required. Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint); Experience using SmartSheet, PeopleSoft and Lawson applications a plus.

Qualifications/Skills: Requirements for this position include detail driven habits, ability to maintain focus in a fast paced environment. Must have excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills, ability to work effectively in a team atmosphere and be deadline oriented.

  • Ability to identify challenges and demonstrate independent judgment in decision making.
