The Admission Counselor has the primary responsibility for recruiting, admitting and enrolling undergraduate, full-time students from a sizable geographical territory. Extensive travel to high schools and college fairs within the University’s primary, secondary and tertiary markets is required. The Admission Counselor works in collaboration with the Admissions team to meet enrollment targets and goals. The Admission Counselor reports to the Executive Director of Undergraduate Admissions. Proficiency or fluency in Spanish is preferred.
Essential Duties
- Recruit & counsel prospective undergraduate students
- Manage a sizable recruitment territory
- Create a recruitment plan
- Discuss La Salle’s offerings with prospective students, parents, counselors and alumni via extensive travel to high schools and college fairs within the University’s primary, secondary and tertiary markets
- Conduct regular information and one-on-one sessions for prospective students
- Complete and review all applications for admission from assigned recruitment territories
- Assists with department and divisional sponsored events including off-campus recruitment and yield events
Secondary Responsibilities
- Assist Enrollment Management staff as needed
- Manage special projects and/or serve on committees as needed
- Perform other related duties as assigned

- Bachelor’s degree
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Some experience working in higher education or a related field
- Knowledge of and commitment to the mission of La Salle University
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency or fluency in Spanish
- Capable of undertaking complex admissions responsibilities with minimal direction
- Strong customer service orientation and experience in developing recruiting and communication strategies
- Previous experience using Technolutions Slate CRM
- Previous experience using Ellucian’s BANNER
Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours
- Evening and weekend work will be necessary during peak times
- Extensive travel to high schools and college fairs within the University’s primary, secondary and tertiary markets is required

This is a pooled position from which Admission Counselors will be selected when the need arises in the department.
