What you'll do...

This role will report to the Senior Operations Manager of Capacity Solutions. You will work closely with several stakeholders, including but not limited to:

  • The Operations function of the team as a manager to verify high quality execution of daily operations. You will own ensuring a consistent stream of high quality and engaging workload, support daily tasks when needed, and hold weekly business reviews. IF CANDIDATE HAS PEOPLE LEADERSHIP SKILLS, THEN: You will also enable career development through holding informal & formal training, 1:1s and career conversations, as well as writing constructive performance reviews.
  • The Analytics function of the team is to develop new tools, streamline processes and review data to support your frontline operators and help them understand the insights that explain what data shows.
  • Cross functional work with other teams like Transportation Procurement team, where they will help ensure, Walmart is optimally sourcing transactional capacity on the right lanes, at the right rate, at the right time based on forecasting pricing. This analysis involves accounting for current market dynamics and team strategy across different business units. You will also support lane research, performing appropriate root cause analysis for plan variances and calculating capacity gaps due to supplier network shifts.
  • Work cross functionally with the Events Planning team to enable capacity sourcing for seasonal events & holidays, ensuring proactive coverage for high-priority freight.

  • Can effectively synthesize multiple large, complex, and distinct data sets to identify solutions, provide data to support decisions, forecast into the unknown, and perform calculations to drive business impact.
  • Have strong business communication skills, both written and verbal; with ability to communicate / present to Operations teams, also ability to express complex technical topics clearly & easily.
  • Can perform analysis, visualize, story-tell, and build tools with an advanced level of MS Excel.
  • Have a deep understanding of Transportation Operations and/or Supply Chain network.
  • Have a proven track record of driving cross functional initiatives.
  • Have an ability to thrive in ambiguity and often lack of clarity, demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects and tight deadlines.

  • Ensuring that your final deliverables are actionable and communicated in a way that drives quantifiable business benefit in terms of improved efficiencies, decision making, service, cost, etc.
  • Partnering closely with Carrier & Supplier Operations, Events Planning, and other key stakeholders. Employing a collaborative approach to fostering strong, trusting relationships and accomplish objectives. Communicating effectively to different audiences, demonstrating strong communication skills to drive influence.

The annual salary range for this position is $70,000.00-$130,000.00

Minimum Qualifications...

Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or related field and 2 years' experience in logistics, distribution, transportation, or related area OR 4 years' experience in logistics, distribution, transportation, or related area. 2 years' experience with Microsoft Office.
