Position Title:Board Certified Behavior Analyst - North Carolina

Location: Wilmington, NC

Description:

Job Summary:

The Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) is responsible for providing behavioral services under the guidance of a Licensed Psychologist (LP) or a Licensed Psychological Associate (LPA) to children or adults, often diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder or similar conditions, and/or who are in need of interventions to manage problem behavior and/or advance acceptable social and self-care skills.

Essential Duties:

  • Provides clinically appropriate Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services as dictated by the clinical needs of the client(s), to include individual or group assessment and/or therapy within the BCBA’s level of expertise. Seeks consultation and supervision from LPA and the Senior Behavior Analyst as needed.
  • Observes all billing requirements (e.g. length of billable sessions). Any exceptions must be approved prior to session by the Director.
  • Coordinates with Clinic coordinator on scheduling of clients based on needs
  • Supervises the organization and operation of the ABA-based intervention program of children on the BCBA’s caseload with one-on-one trainers (Registered Behavior Technicians – RBTs) assigned to clients
  • Works with the Director and/or Senior Behavior Analyst to set and meet all eligible billing codes from payor sources. This can occur with informal meetings or set meetings on a regular basis to be mutually decided upon.
  • Consults with LP/LPA and/or Senior Behavior Analyst to review plan of assessment for new and existing clients’ problem behavior and skills assessment, then implements assessment tools with RBTs according to ethical and practice guidelines of the BACB.
  • Consults with LP/LPA and/or Senior Behavior Analyst to plan for treatment procedures, then implement treatment procedures with RBTs according to ethical and practice guidelines of the BACB.
  • Supervises staff’s implementation of ABA services. Trains the staff on implementing any new programming. Keeps record of supervision toward staff evaluation reports and for billable supervision hours on insurance and related plans for ABA services. Completes written notes to leave on client’s clipboard on new directives or explanations, so that all staff working with the client see this important information. If supervision results in changes to client’s program goals, enter into Catalyst within a day, so that staff can perform and keep data on the modified program.
  • Ensures all billing and medical notes are entered appropriately in avatar.
  • Schedules and meets with families to give summary information and graphs of the client’s program progress and discuss the client’s plan for continuing services.
  • Provides direct family training, as expected and approved in the client’s authorization for services. Also generalize training to the home.
  • Keeps track of own billing and clock time on Kronos
  • Participates in Quality Assurance and supervision activities as directed by the Director and/or the Senior Behavior Analyst.
  • Recruits and trains new ABA Line Therapists as program needs dictate, in collaboration with the Director and/or the Senior Behavior Analyst.
  • Discusses and attends recruitment events in the area for expanding the ABA program and related behavior consultation services.
  • Attends relevant meetings as indicated by Director
  • Fosters collaborative working relationships among members of the leadership and management teams and programs.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in human services or health-related field (preferably Psychology or Applied Behavior Analysis)
  • Must possess and maintain Board Certification as a Behavior Analyst (BCBA) with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BCBA)
  • Two (2) years’ experience working with individuals needing BCBA intervention
  • Experience working with persons with autism and autism-like behaviors preferred.
