Description

Leidos CIO Services is seeking an experienced Technical Writer to join our Organizational IT Transformation & Development Team. The Leidos CIO Services Organizational IT Transformation & Development Team plans, develops, executes and supports technical communications, documentation, policies, procedures, training, and graphics for various IT and cybersecurity technologies and projects to Leidos’ 50,000+ employees worldwide.

The successful candidate will execute technical writing for IT and cybersecurity projects, initiatives and changes while providing technical communications support for Organizational Change Management Analysts who manage the people side of projects and IT changes, ensuring our employees have the communications, training. IT instructions and information they need to understand, adapt and incorporate new technologies.

About Your Role:

You will play a vital role in the success of Leidos’ global employees by providing technical communications and materials that are clear, simple, customer friendly, concise, visually appealing and well organized following established style guides and standards; helping employees to use their IT tools more quickly, effectively and efficiently.

You will also:

  • Help curate, maintain and edit 30,000 pieces IT and cybersecurity instructional and informational intranet content so employees can be more self-sufficient and avoid service desk calls.
  • Create, edit and publish IT and Cybersecurity briefings, user facing communications, instructions, infographics, training materials, how-to videos and other content to inform, educate and empower employees to use their IT more effectively.
  • Schedule and produce mass emails, recorded trainings and large group meetings for hundreds to thousands of employees.
  • Follow, create and help reinforce corporate and organization-specific standards, processes, templates, and style guides; while looking for opportunities to improve.
  • Identify opportunities to encourage and enhance employee engagement, and promote the adoption of new IT processes or technologies.
  • Stay updated on technical communications industry trends and best and emerging practices.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical communications, journalism, mass communications, systems analysis or a related field and 5+ years’ experience writing and editing end-user facing IT instructions and technical communications.
  • Microsoft Word and PowerPoint expert.
  • Experience using WSYWIG editors for publishing online content.
  • US citizenship is required and able to obtain security clearance as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree
  • Video and/or image editing, voiceover and production skills
  • Familiarity with supporting an IT organization and the development of technically sound content, including knowledge of project management and common IT processes and enterprise level technology

Pay Range:

Pay Range $61,750.00 - $111,625.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
