Required Educational Background: Applicant must have a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering, applied mechanics, civil engineering, or a closely related field. They should have four years of research experience in topology optimization and additive manufacturing.
Required Skillset: Demonstrated expertise and research experience in topology optimization and computational mechanics; experienced programming in Python, MATLAB, and C/C++. In addition to conducting research, the duties also include preparing reports, performing literature reviews, supervising graduate and undergraduate students, and assisting with other projects in the research group. Other required skill sets include Good verbal and written communication skills, the Ability to work both independently and within a team structure, delivering project components on given time schedules, and the Ability to multi-task.
Responsibilities: The research-related responsibilities of this position will include Mentoring graduate students; Writing journal publications; Preparing reports that summarize the work conducted for progress reports to funding agencies; Planning, developing, and implementing technical and scientific research programs; Contributing to proposal writing and acquisition of preliminary data.
