Overview
This position is under the administration of the Director of the IDD and the supervision of the Clinical Director of the Child Development and Rehabilitation Center (CDRC) clinical programs. The duties of this position are in support of the missions, goals and objectives of OHSU and IDD and include: participation in interdisciplinary teams for the evaluation and management of children and adolescents with special health care needs in selected CDRC clinics throughout the state; participation in interdisciplinary training at CDRC; service on various CDRC and OHSU committees as appropriate and assigned; engagement in public service through consultative activities with non-OHSU groups as approved by the Director; and conduct of research in selected areas of interest. The duties may vary and are determined by the CDRC Clinical Director to meet objectives agreed upon by the Director of the IDD in consultation with the CDRC Clinical Director. This position requires undivided effort at the specified FTE.
This position supports and participates in monitoring and evaluating quality assessment and improvement of patient care provided at CDRC as part of the annual reappraisal of the CDRC program.
Maintains professional standards of care and professional credentials through participation in developmental pediatric societies and continuing education. Participates in systematic reviews of clinical practice models, productivity, and patient satisfaction. Utilizes an evidence-based approach to clinical practice and in-services other professional staff regarding this literature.
80 % of time (Direct Clinical) This Family/Pediatric Nurse Practitioner position, provides clinical services to children with special health care needs who receive diagnostic or management services in the Eugene CDRC Child Development, Craniofacial Disorders, Neurodevelopmental, Spina Bifida, Feeding, and Medford Neurodevelopmental Clinics. Responsibilities include completion of chart reviews, comprehensive histories, complete physical and neurodevelopmental exams, developmental testing, participation in team staffing, provision of parent education/counseling regarding behavioral or developmental diagnoses, recommendations for diagnostic testing, treatment and ongoing management of the condition, and preparation of clinical reports.
20 % of time (Indirect Clinical, Scholarly activity, Research, Teaching) Scholarly activities include development of clinical projects/research interests leading to publication/presentation; teaching activities include clinic teaching of U of O and OHSU students/trainees of various disciplines and levels, medical students, residents, and fellows when available; coordination of and participation in in-service and journal club activities at Eugene CDRC; and classroom presentations at U of O as requested by other faculty.
