POSITION

SEWING MACHINE OPERATOR

JOB SUMMARY

The Sewing Machine Operator is an integral part of the manufacturing production line. The Sewing Machine Operator will be trained with the technical knowledge and have the ability to communicate the technical information required to perform as an operator in the sewing department.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support, report to, and be directed by the Sewing Manager in his/her duties.
  • Performs basic to advanced sewing functions within efficiency standards to assemble textile materials into a finished product.
  • Maintains quality control standards and takes appropriate action to maintain accuracy and precision with the highest degree of proficiency.
  • Able to read and interpret technical packets, written processes, standard operating procedures, and follow instructions.
  • Able to identify components and workings of sewing machine.
  • Utilize various sewing machines, fixtures, and tooling to perform sewing functions to a high degree of proficiency
  • Able to perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance on machine and identify the need for external services when needed.
  • Maintain clean and organized workspace according to company standards.
  • Perform all other duties reasonably related to the Company’s business when asked to do so by the Company’s executive team.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • May be required to work overtime and/or extended hours depending on business needs.
  • Physical requirements may include sitting, standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, and kneeling for up to and including 8 hours.
  • Vision to view printed and electronic text and graphics.
  • Ability to access information on computers, tablets, and electronics.
  • Ability to handle and manipulate items with hands and/or fingers up to and including 8 hours.
  • Full-time, on-site position.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Utilize appropriate software to perform job duties, such as but not limited to ADP, Microsoft Office Suite and/or Microsoft Dynamics systems to facilitate job duties.
