Overview

  • Building and supporting the SPH’s 30-30-30 Initiative through programmatic development and curricular design.
  • Coordinating and engaging closely with SPH Student Success Center.
  • Teaching Public Health Practice and interdisciplinary courses at the masters level.
  • Developing, supporting, advising and mentoring 30-30-30 student cohorts.
  • Developing and maintaining scholarship related to public health practice, public health workforce development, and educational diversity efforts.
  • Publishing and/or otherwise disseminating the products of scholarship, including in peer-reviewed venues.
  • Advance the strategic goals of SPH, contribute to the shared governance of the SPH, and engage in collegial activities in support of the SPH missions.


Responsibilities

  • A doctorate degree (e.g., PhD, ScD, DrPH, DPhil) in public health or a closely related discipline (e.g., social work) by the position start date.

  • Experience with and/or interest in teaching graduate courses covering a variety of public health and public health practice related topics.

  • Strong background in curriculum and program development, specifically geared towards advancing the public health and health equity workforce.

  • Strong pedagogical expertise, specifically for diverse learners in public health or related discipline.

  • Experience

  • Demonstrated ability to teach in remote and asynchronous settings, as well as in-person.

  • Commitment to educational equity and promotion of diversity.



Qualifications



  • Experience in workforce development efforts for professional students (MPH, MSW, etc.).
  • Experience in academic program direction, development, and assessment.
  • Experience advising and/or mentoring diverse graduate students, including doctoral students.
  • Experience in higher education administration.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with a variety of internal and external partners.
