The Install/Service Helper is an entry level position that leads the successful candidate to move into Journeyman/Locksmith positions. The technical Helper assists in all phases of installing, testing, and troubleshooting burglar alarms, CCTV systems, access control systems and intercom systems at customer sites. This is a union position.
Pay Range - $22 - $25 / HR DOE
Responsibilities
Assists with installation, service, and repair of Kastle access control, security components and CCTV.
Assists supervisor by verifying that completed work is documented accurately
Maintains company owned vehicles, tools, equipment, and individual tool issue.
Maintains and protect building keys to customer buildings.
Qualifications
1-2 years of experience in the alarm, access control, CCTV, and Networking.
Training, testing, and certification may be required in accordance with the current CBA
Work history must display stability and consistent attendance.
Demonstrated ability to accept responsibility and carry out assigned tasks with limited supervision.
Knowledge of building codes pertaining to construction, fire, and electrical systems.
Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams.
Networking, Computers, Alarm systems, Access Controls, and CCTV.
Aptitude in basic programming
Thorough knowledge installation techniques.
Solid understanding of PIR technology, Doppler theory, and AC/DC theory.
Thorough knowledge of electronic testing equipment, hand, and power tools.
Proficient with MS Windows 7, MS Word & MS Excel
Must successfully complete Kastle’s Training curriculum.
Mechanical aptitude and ability to use metering devices.
There is a probationary period which is governed by the CBA based on territory
Ability to write and maintain accurate and concise daily records.
Ability to interface and communicate with customers and co-workers in a clear and professional manner.
Self-motivated and excellent attention to detail.
Must be available to work overtime, weeknights, and/or weekends as needed.
Willingness to accept responsibility and carry out assigned tasks with limited supervision
Work history must display stability and good attendance
Ability to follow the installation, testing, and troubleshooting procedures
Desire and ability to work well with others
Neat, professional appearance
Must be available to be on call on scheduled weeknights, and/or weekends to assist in service issues
