TRAINEE BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT & STRATEGY INTERNATIONAL IN STRATEGY & OPERATIONS PROGRAMS / CLEAN OPERATIONS OFFICE (M/F/X)

Clean Operations is our contribution to making DHL Group the most sustainable logistics company in the world. The Clean Operations Office coordinates target setting, monitors progress towards achievement and governs implementation measures to drive decarbonization throughout the DHL Group. That means they coordinate and follow up on contributions towards DHL’s science-based decarbonization target from all business units and regions and provide a regular greenhouse gas emission forecasts for the Group; they develop internal policies, guidelines and standards and contribute to the continuous development of external standards through working groups; they engage with public authorities and NGOs to advocate for favourable policies regarding decarbonization; they manage the Group’s carbon credit portfolio and the external validation of green products and engage with suppliers for sustainable fuels and technologies to secure long-term supply.

Your tasks

  • Support the development and external verification of low-emission transport products
  • Facilitate exchange within the global cross-divisional sustainability community at DHL Group
  • Research on upcoming standards and policies on decarbonization, GHG emissions accounting and sustainable fuels and technologies
  • Write and maintain internal guidelines on topics relevant for decarbonization at DHL Group
  • Prepare information and decision-making decks for DHL Group’s senior management, including the Operations Board and Corporate Board

Your profile

  • Minimum Bachelor Graduation in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Natural Sciences, Economy or Sustainability before April 1st, 2025; major fields of study in Climate Studies, Business Strategy, Sustainable Fuels & Technologies are an advantage
  • First professional experiences (up to 3 years) in sustainability or strategy; minimum 3 months of international experience
  • Fluent English skills; German skills are a plus
  • Teamplayer with excellent communication & presentation skills
  • Intercultural competencies
  • High flexibility to adapt in a fast-moving environment
