Opportunity:

TAYS is seeking an Enterprise Printer Fleet Management Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our dynamic team! The Enterprise Printer Fleet Management Subject Matter Expert (SME) to contribute to various projects within a federal agency. This role requires a qualified candidate with robust analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, coupled with a keen attention to detail.

The Enterprise Printer Fleet Management Subject Matter Expert (SME) must be local to Baltimore, MD, Durham, NC or Denver, CO. This is primarily remote; however, occasional on-site attendance may be required by the customer and is subject to change based on customer requirements.

Primary Responsibilities

This role will be crucial in ensuring the client’s printer fleet is effectively managed to meet the organization’s operational requirements, while optimizing costs and enhancing productivity. Key responsibilities include configuring and troubleshooting printers, managing print servers, monitoring printer performance, and providing end-user support.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and 10 years’ experience
  • HP Web Jet Admin Expertise: Strong working knowledge of HP Web Jet Admin in an enterprise environment, including system design and ongoing maintenance.
  • Microsoft OS and Printing Technologies: Proficient in Microsoft OS, including Point and Print technology and IPP (Internet Print Protocol).
  • Printer Strategy Development: Assist in creating and executing strategies for efficient printer usage, including cost management, procurement, and lifecycle management.
  • Vendor Management: Coordinate with printer manufacturers and service providers to ensure optimal performance and service levels.
  • Technical Expertise: Providing expert guidance on printer technologies, configurations, and troubleshooting, including installing, configuring, and maintaining network and standalone printers, multifunction devices, and related software.
  • Policy Development: Development and enforcement of policies for printer use, security, and maintenance.
  • Data Analysis: Monitor and analyze printer performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.
  • User Support and Training: Provide user support and training on best practices, troubleshooting, firmware testing, and updates.
  • Relevant Experience: Proven experience as a Printer Administrator, IT Support Specialist, or similar role in a large enterprise environment with multiple networked printers.
  • Printer Systems Knowledge: Strong understanding of both networked and standalone printer systems.
  • Print Server Management: Experience managing print servers (e.g., Windows Print Server).
  • Printer Management Tools: Familiarity with printer management software and tools.
  • Printer Security: Knowledge of printer security best practices.
  • The ability to obtain/maintain a Public Trust.

  • Master’s Degree
  • Previous government contracting (GovCon) experience
  • Active Public Trust or higher
