Samtec is seeking an Optical Process Engineering Manager in our Colorado Springs, CO location. This is a day shift position with some opportunity to work a hybrid in office / WFH schedule. The salary range for this position is $130,000 - $170,000 per year inclusive of applicable bonus and commensurate with experience. PROCESS ENGINEERING MANAGER

Summary/Objective: The Process Engineering Manager will manage a team responsible for the design and implementation of manufacturing processes for optical transceiver products.
Essential Functions/ Responsibilities:
  1. Manage a team of Process Engineers over multiple sites. Define and maintain priorities and assignments for all team associates.
  2. Manages the portfolio of all global process engineering projects spanning from new product development to sustaining released products.
  3. Work with Product Engineering Managers, Automation Engineering Managers, Tooling Engineering, and Production Managers to assist in designing products and processes for manufacturability.
  4. Ensures continuous improvement in process, cost, quality, and capacity.
  5. Mentor the team and provide expertise in process engineering best practices. (Statistical Process Control (SPC), DMAIC, DOE, Root Cause Analysis, Gage R&R, etc.)
  6. Must be customer focused and believe in Sudden Service.
  7. Excellent communication skills and proficient in Microsoft Office.
  8. Project management skills in handling multiple projects, delegation, and prioritization.
The responsibilities as defined are intended to serve as a general guideline for this position. Associates may be asked to perform additional tasks depending on strengths and capabilities
Required Experience:
  1. 7+ years experience in Process Engineering or other engineering discipline.
  2. 5+ years experience in managing engineering teams; specifically in Process Engineering.
  3. Experience in the semiconductor or microelectronics industry is preferred.
  4. Experience with optical components packaging is highly preferred.
  5. Experience Statistical Process Control (SPC), Design of Experiments (DOE), FMEA, and Design for Manufacturability.
  6. Experience managing teams on multiple sites is a plus.
  7. Must possess great communication skills as this per will interact with upper management on a daily basis.
  8. Must be able to handle multiple projects at the same time and be able to change priorities on a moments notice.
  9. Must be able to sit/stand for at least 90 consecutive minutes, and not suffer from any sensory deprivation and/or paralysis of the limbs.
Education:
  1. Bachelors Degree in Engineering (i.e. Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Material Science, etc.)
  2. Six Sigma Training (Green Belt & Black Belt) is a plus.
