The Blaster is responsible for the safety and success of all blasts. The Blaster will assist and support the Vice President and the project team to remove rock as needed on the project.




Specifics of the role

  • Manage and perform all aspects of blasting needed for a project or multiple projects.


What we expect

  • Drill or coordinate with the driller the holes needed for the blast.
  • Coordinate how to drill advance holes and tie back into a recent shot.
  • Order explosives in a timely manner so blasting dates are met.
  • Manage explosive providers for proper delivery.
  • Coordinate with the client and GC for safe blasting limits onsite.
  • Safe and efficient loading of all blast holes and timing of all shots.
  • Communicate with the client/sitework contractor for all items related to drilling and blasting.
  • Create drill logs.
  • Clearly and effectively communicate with all team members (Vice President, Sitework contractor)

Items to know

  • Our projects are typically based in Georgia, and we have recently expanded our footprint in other East Coast areas. Travel may be required within the expanded footprint of our client base.

  • This role requires an independent person who will be able to complete tasks provided by the sitework contractor or general contractor in an effective and timely manner.
  • Working environment is outdoors and in varying types of weather and temperatures.
  • Moderate physical stress and long hours are often required.




  • Blasting license for Georgia.
  • Pass federal background check.
  • Pass pre-employment physical.
  • 2 to 5 years blasting experience minimum.
  • No major blasting accidents.
  • Required activities include walking, standing, driving, bending, frequent use of hands, and may be required to lift and carry short distances up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to perform all aspects of blasting (drilling, loading, design, timing, etc.).
  • Knowledge of NONEL and Electronic blasting system.
  • Can operate heavy machinery safely.
  • Can operate a hydraulic breaker efficiently.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.
